You now realize that your pet is suffering...
...and you are lost. You really don’t want to say goodbye. It is so hard… possibly “the” hardest thing you’ve ever had to do in your life. It’s tearing you apart, you don’t want to let go, but you want to find the courage to do what is right for your pet.
WHAT DO YOU DO???
Step 1
- Assess Quality of Life
A very important part of the decision is to make sure that you are making the right decision. This is fully covered in the section on Quality of Life. If, after reviewing the information in that section, you are still not sure if you are making the right decision, call us at 657-255-8611 to set up a Quality of Life assessment, or fill out the contact form on this page to schedule a free consultation to get help on what your next step is.
Step 2
- Call us: 657-255-8611 or Request a free consultation to find out what your next step is, using the contact form
If you have already ascertained that it is time to let go, the first thing to do is to call us. Our number is 657-255-8611. We are available for emergencies late nights, so if your pet needs help immediately, don't delay. We can do home euthanasia visits even late at night if your pet is suffering. Don’t even wait to pull yourself together and to stop crying first because you may lose your courage when you already know that it is the right thing to do. And besides, even if you pull yourself together first, you will likely break down again when you call us. No worries, we help pet parents and families every day whose hearts are broken at the thought of preparing for such a difficult event. So we are here for you and we are prepared to help you even if you are barely able to get a word out. We have an off hours answering system that allows you to reach us personally until 10PM or you can leave us a message. Our voicemail says to press "1" if your pet needs help right away. If you suspect that your pet is suffering and you would like to reach us immediately, just press "1" and you will be connected to us without delay until 10PM.
Step 3
- If you prefer fill out the form to request a free consultation regarding what your next step is.
- Fill out the contact form
- Tell us about your pet. We are interested in finding more about your baby. Tell us his name, what kind of pet he is, what is happening with him, what he has meant to you during his time with you… we care about the families we help and you can tell us anything. You can even email us a picture.
Step 4
- Ask us all your questions
When you call us, ask us any and all questions you have. We are here to help you. We recommend that you browse our website too: there is so much valuable information contained on our website. But don’t hesitate to call us: we are here to help you and to answer your questions.
Step 5
- Make an appointment
Once you have all your questions answered, make an appointment for the doctor to come to your home, either for a hospice visit, a Quality of Life assessment or a Home Euthanasia.
Step 6
After you have made the appointment, we have created a list of actions you can do in order to be fully prepared. You will find this in the “preparing” section, in the article “Preparing for the event”. You do not have to do everything outlined in this article. It is simply meant to guide you and help you. In that section, you will find all the forms you will need to fill out and all the details you may not think about, but that would make a difference in being fully prepared. If you have any questions or special requests, call us. We are here to help you.
Step 7
- If you need to, ask more questions: 714-454-4080 or request a free consultation on what your next step is by filling out the contact form
If, along the way, you have more questions, or you realize that you forgot to ask us a question or you have a specific concern, you can call us at 714-454-4080 or email us anytime. We are here to help you. Our goal is to make things peaceful for your baby and to make things as easy as possible for you.
Step 8
- If your pet takes a turn for the worse call immediately: 714-454-4080
If you have made an appointment and your pet takes a turn for the worse unexpectedly, you can call us at 714-454-4080 to get us to come earlier. Sometimes, (not always depending on doctor availability), we can even do emergency euthanasia visits late in the evening. We have an off hours answering system that allows you to reach us until 10PM. Listen to the options on our voicemail to speak to us at our earliest availability or to leave a message. If you suspect that your pet is suffering and you would like to reach us immediately, call us to find out if we are able to send a doctor to you immediately.
