On September 4, 2007 I adopted Bonnie at the National Cat Protection Society in Newport Beach. After I had to release my dear kitty Peep to Kitty Heaven and needed another furry companion, my best friend noticed her at Petfinder.com and thought she should be my baby. We went to the adoption center; one look convinced me that this lovely white cat was meant for me.
Bonnie was 4 years old by the estimate of the good people at NATCAT. Someone had left her on their doorstep in a box three months before I adopted her. She purred and slept during the hour-plus trip to my home, and seemed completely comfortable as soon as we arrived.
Her health was not good from the beginning. My veterinarian and I did the best that was possible for Bonnie, but after I had had her for just under four years she was too ill to continue. Dr. Forslund helped her to make a peaceful transition over the Rainbow Bridge.
Often when I came home from an errand she greeted me at the front door, looked up at me and said, "Oh, it's you! Do come on in!" One of Bonnie's favorite things was that each morning when she noticed that I was awake she would get on my chest for our daily purr session; she kneaded and purred for a few minutes until it was time for me to get up. Then she often crawled under the covers for a nap. She had many funny habits, such as getting under throw rugs to snooze.
Bonnie was beautiful, had a wonderful personality, and was such a joy to me. Her departure left a huge hole in my heart, and I miss her terribly.
I want to thank you for your kindness and caring when Bonnie needed to cross the Rainbow Bridge.
Thank you again for the compassionate service you provide.
