One of our main concerns with our Pippin was in spite of his health challenges after his heart attack was that he would never suffer, it was a main focus of our care for him and a responsibility we took very seriously.
The week our medical team could no longer do anything more to sustain our Pippin we had a tough choice to make, but knew that right choice was in bringing Pippin home where his pack and family could be around him in the end.
Dr. Forslund was truly an angel in our time of dire need. We knew that there was a very high chance that there could be complications with even this last situation. What was a terrible time at least was made into a most peaceful experience with any pain or suffering for our little boy. His breathing actually improved and there was relaxation in his body and eyes as my wife held him in his favorite place, Pippin slipped away ever so peacefully loved and cared for. Even with the loss of our little champion we were so thankful there was no pain for him. Dr. Forslund was amazingly kind in our time of need and gave us so much time to say goodbye to our boy. Wrapped in his favorite red blanket we knew he was finally pain free heading to a better place never to suffer again.
It’s the hardest single thing to ever do, even though it was the second beloved dog we had lost to illness. Although I still grieve deeply for Pippin’s loss I would not hesitate to call Dr. Forslund back in a like situation. She was very caring and impressed me with her care, attention and love for our dog which we all felt, and she made the passing better, much better than it could have been. Pippin left us on a warm sunny summer day, and even with a smile. He was without a doubt the bravest little dog I have ever known and will likely ever know and all our memories are good ones!....Dr. Forslund’s care continued as we worked to get through the process of loss even counseling us and assisting us with Cookie who dearly loved and was devoted to Pippin. I don’t really know what we would have done without Annie Forslund, I really don’t…
I wish all dogs would live forever but I know that’s not possible, and therefore I would without a moments hesitation provide Dr. Forslund with our highest recommendation. Her skill, attention and care in this process was very relieving for my wife and myself who absolutely live for our dogs and love them more than anything. Thank the lord we were able to connect with her make a rough situation into something which we can remember as a peaceful and calm ending for a highly valued and loved family member. Rest in peace Little Pippin...
