Coda was born on December 26, 1999 to my best friend's dogs Cookie and Jake. I adopted him with his sister Zeppie in late February 2000 when I was just 18. Together, they have been the greatest gifts and loves of my life! They, along with our kitty Arctica, have been my constant companions for over 12 years! He was diagnosed with prostate cancer (which is extremely rare in neutered dogs and spreads very quickly) after several tests for a UTI in late April 2012. At that time Coda was only given a few weeks to a couple of months to live. We gave him extra special love and care and he was a normal happy pup for almost 4 months up until the last week or so. I knew I couldn't let him suffer. Coda really hated going to the vet and I'd heard of vets offering at-home euthanasia in the past. We did our research and I knew that there was no other option for us!
Dr. Forslund was so helpful and understanding from the very first phone call after finding her website. I wanted so much to be able to give him peace and comfort, to be with us at home with his sister in his final moments. Being at home with Coda was such a peaceful experience. I don’t think I could have been able to get through it as I did without being at home. I refused to let his final moments be full of anxiety and stress. We all got to say good bye and grieve together.
Dr. Forslund was wonderful, gentle, very caring and understanding. I am so thankful and grateful that you offer your services for people, to be able to be at home with their beloved pet and families for our animals’ final moments. What a blessing. I wish everybody had the option to be able to do that for their pets.
Dr. Forslund's services and sweet, gentle nature has given us so much peace and closure that I know I wouldn't have had otherwise. What an amazing blessing - I won't ever have it any other way and have told everyone about it!
Thank you,
