It has been unusually hard on me without my boy by my side. He was my anchor and I do struggle with my loneliness. Again, thank you for making the difficult time as peaceful as possible. We all have our gifts and yours is helping us through these times. I can relate to you in some ways because my 29 year career as a pediatric ICU RN has given my opportunities to be with families in their worst times and I know what you give of yourself each time you help someone through this. I have no problem with you posting my comments. I just don't know that at the time I really said what was in my heart. I posted this on facebook a while back as my tribute to my boy. Thank you for making the difficult time as peaceful as possible. We all have our gifts and yours is helping us through these times. I know what you give of yourself each time you help someone through this. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. Apache by my side is heaven to me. Apache you are forever in my heart and the truth is you really came along and rescued me. The obvious is that it was at home & much less stress on Apache. Dr. Annie was very good with him. Thank you for your soft approach & kind words. You were very reassuring and I appreciate what you do greatly. Ron & Annie were very professional and compasionate. Thank you for answering all my questions. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
A little over 10 years ago I rescued a malnourished, skid-dish, frightened German Shepherd. I took one look at him and thought no one would ever take him, so I did. When I brought him home to meet my families most of them admittedly thought I was crazy. Several days ago I had to say goodbye to my dear sweet wonderful boy. I recall thinking at the beginning... I'm changing his name... Who names a dog Apache? Im so glad that didn't happen because this is what Apache means to me:
A - ADORING For those big beautiful brown eyes that look into mine so adoringly.
P - PROTECTOR Always watching, always vigilant. Never letting me out of your site.
A - ANCHOR I held on to you for dear life sometimes and you were always my rock.
C - COMPANION Always by my side. You were my confidant and confessor. You comforted me with just your presence. And Oh!.. you and I have so many adventures together!
H - HERO For all you have been through in your lifetime and what you have done for me.
E - EVERYTHING There are so many words to describe you..Energetic, enthusiastic.. but let me will sum it up with simply.. you were my everything.
Dear God,
If there is a heaven, please no streets paved with gold or crowns with priceless jewels..Just a shady patch of grass to rest on, or a snowy trail to walk down, or a sandy beach or stream to swim in... and Apache by my side. That is heaven to me. ( And Apache would appreciate a tennis ball to chase I'm sure.)
Apache you are forever in my heart and the truth is you really came along and rescued me.
