Thanks for all you do.
Mr. Peepers was healthy much of his life, even though slightly over the ideal weight.
I lay in bed July 30, 2000, hearing a cat meow below the window. I went downstairs to find the cat, but didn’t succeed. Putting some dry cat food on the sidewalk, I checked back a few hours later to find the food had been eaten. As I put some more food down, a Russian Blue mix cat ran to me, jumping up to put his two front-paws on my left shoulder; this turned out to be his favorite way to get around. Because of a low sound he made, he was named Mr. Peepers.
As we already had a seven year-old cat, Mika, we took our new visitor to the vet for a checkup. Mr. Peepers checked out fine and was thought to be about seven months old. He was brought home and put in a room for a few days for the two cats to become aware of each other. Our older cat, a Maine Coon, tolerated Mr. Peepers, but if he stepped out of line, she would swat him with a paw. Peepers enjoyed being chased around the condo by me and playing with feather toys.
In February 2003, Mika passed away and we adopted Willie. After a period of adjustment, Willie and Mr. Peepers got along well. When Willie passed away in January 2014, Mr. Peepers became an only cat, relishing the attention. Old age made it necessary to get him a stair step for getting up on the bed. He was a great companion who was always ready to be held and rub his chin against my left ear. He is greatly missed.
