Love to you from our hearts…… hugs from our souls…. We are and honored glad you got to share in all our pups lives.
Rocky came to us on January 3rd, 2002. A gift from our son, Jon, who in the most loving manner possible, secretly got him from a breeder he knew in Minnesota.
He came to us on January 3rd, 2002. A gift from our son, Jon, who in the most loving manner possible, secretly got him from a breeder he knew in Minnesota. He knew we had fallen in love with his own little white Maltese and wanted to ease the pain of the soon to be ending of the life of our incredible and beloved springer spaniel, Hunter. Who knew that our Hunter would pass on the very day that this little guy arrived.
& new beginnings.
Everyone fawned over this little guy, loving on him, holding him, while I cried my eyes out, unable to reach out to hold his soft precious body and little black nose. What’s his name, we need to name him…. I couldn’t find a name, I couldn’t think, I was crushed beyond lifes expectations at this time. Kristi called him Pink Floyd and so he became Pink Floyd for a little bit of time.
2 weeks went by while I fed him, carried him around, but felt no comfort, no connection….. what was wrong with me…… then….. yes it happened… one early morning as I took him out for pee pee time, I leaned over to put him down and he slipped out of my hands and fell with a thud onto the concrete patio….. I was mortified, terrified, screaming, BUT I fell in love at that exact moment with that little guy and that was the beginning of my own love affair with our little Rock Star.
He became Rocky Balboa because he would lay on his back and box the air against our hands, and stand on his hind legs and box the nose of our other springer spaniel, Buddy. He would engage in rope pulling contests with his 70 lb brother, Buddy that would go on for hours and never once give up his end of the rope even when being drug around the house at the end of that rope.
He became The Rock Star because he was always the star of the show, the star for all our family and friends and the star of our lives!
JOY - The emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying, keen pleasure, pure elation
This little guy have us pure unadulterated JOY….. laughter, antics, love, sweetness, his little nose kisses would send us into hysterical laughter… he would jump through high grass and look like
Kangaroo as he bounced up and down and all we could see was his head above it all. He was noisy, and loved to bark his welcome of anyone who came to see us…. But his real specialty was his
Ability to imitate the Michael Jackson “moon dance”… compete with backward dancing, head turning spins and overhead flips. Give him grass, carpet, a sofa, blanket, just anything that he could get traction on and off go, entertaining us for hours with his dance moves.
He along with his brother Roger and sister Ruby, loved to RV with us driving all over parts of the United States, sharing some very funny adventures with us and our family. Everyone that met
Rocky wanted to take him home…. ha, ha no way was that little guy leaving our side.
On January 8th, 2 days before Bill’s papa Ed, passed away, and Rocky was just a wee pup, we snuck him into his room and he just nestled right down into the bed next to him while Ed put his big hand over his little body. He was always like that, loving to be right next to your, snuggling up against your warm body. Even the night before our little boy crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, he just got as near to Bill & I as he could, seeking that connection with the people that he loved.
His daddy loved him beyond all the world and would carry him around for hours on end, play with him and together they would sit and watch Sunday football, the military channel and the history channel. He was the most learned pup around.(But he love those buffalo Bills along with his dad!)
He loved you all….. our grief is huge, but our love is greater. My sister just sent me a message…. I want to write it to you.
To all our fur friends in Heaven…you are in our hearts forever. We love you! Until we meet again… run, play and BE HAPPY.
We love you Rocky… you are our Rock Star forever.
