Pizmo was such wonderful dog and he will always live in our memories. Even though he was a large dog, and at first glimpse seemed intimidating to people and other dogs we met on our walks and outings, he was a very gentle dog. I only heard him bark a couple times--once at a cat, and once at a two coyotes who were trotting down the alley behind our garage. My husband said Pizmo just went crazy barking at them and tugging at his leash. Pizmo tolerated our grandchildren who loved to crawl all over him, pet him, hug and kiss him from the time they could crawl until the week before he left us. He was a gentle soul.
I would like to tell you again how very much I appreciated your compassion and concern when I called you to ask your assistance in helping relieve Pizmo of his suffering when the time to say goodbye came. Calling you was one of the hardest calls I have every made, but from the moment you answered my call, I knew I had made the best decision for Pizmo. The remainder of the day waiting for the time you were to arrive was spent giving all my attention to Pizmo. It was a day filled with hugs, lots of pats, stroking his silky fur, and extra treats. When you arrived and went to Pizmo's side to pet him, speak softly to him, I know he felt your love. As uncomfortable as he was, he wagged his tail. He knew you were a friend there to help him. The final care you gave him was so kind and gentle, and so respectful. I am so grateful that you were here for Pizmo and me. Having him go gently into his final sleep in the comfort of his own home was a priceless gift.
Thank you again.
