On a visit to my oldest daughter in Maryland, I met her puppy, Morgan, and we bonded immediately. When it was time to return home, Morgan came too - a BIG surprise to my husband and other dog in California. Morgan became my faithful companion for the next 15 years and a great source of comfort when my husband and other dog passed away. Morgan and I went often to Baja where we kayaked, swam and walked the beach together. Once while walking in a local park, a young boy pointed to Morgan and said to his mother, “Look that lady is walking a bear” and nothing would convince him otherwise. Because Morgan resembled a grizzly bear, I often called her “my big brown bear.” So many wonderful experiences were shared and memories created during our time together; she will always be my forever dog. I miss her so much.
What a peaceful end of life experience it was for both Morgan and I, thanks to Dr. Forslund. No sterile vet’s office, no returning to pick up her ashes instead we said our good-byes in what proved to be the most poignant and peaceful way I ever experienced.
Dr. Forslund took such good care of Morgan, transporting her body for cremation in the gentlest way, and returning her ashes and paw print to me. I can never thank her enough for all she did to help me through such a difficult time. Now months later, I often caress Morgan’s paw print and feel her spirit close to me. Thank you Dr. Forslund for everything.
I will call on you again when it is time to say good bye to my beloved dogs in the future. It made it so much easier for me to cope with the terrible loss and the aftermath of grieving, to remember how peaceful the entire event was, how gently Dr. Forslund transported Morgan for cremation and I didn’t have to face the vet’s office again to pick up her ashes and the paw print in clay is a wonderful remembrance.
I will call Dr. Forslund again when the time comes to say good bye to next dog.
