Dear Dr. Forslund,
Terry and I want to thank you again for helping us with the very difficult decision to put Max to sleep. Your kind way not only with Max but with us too made his final moments easier to bear. Max was a dog that shook and cried as soon as he saw the car headed for the vet's office, and getting him to walk in the office, much less stay there, was always a challenge.
Here are a couple of pictures of Max that always made us smile. In his older years, Max loved to lay on the grass and just watch the alley traffic go by. Of course, if we didn't have a long lead on him, he would wander and take himself on an exploration trip of the neighborhood. And his favorite place on vacation was on our boat. He loved the smells and the wind and liked to ride up front in the boat the best.
While it was incredibly hard for us to part with Max after 13 years of love and affection, it was made much easier by having you come to our home where Max could be comfortable and not scared. We have told our friends and family how peaceful this was and how wonderful you were with Max and with us. Again, thank you for making something so sad be bearable and for being available so Max could have dignity in his passing.
