Dear Dr. Forslund,
Tia joined our family when our sons were in middle and high school – long past the time when THEY wanted to sit on my lap or “help Daddy” as he puttered in the garage. She loved visiting the Bark Park, offroad walks by the Back Bay, all children (especially little girls), her big dog buddies Brutus and Tucker, wetting her feet in her backyard kiddie pool, hanging out on her fleece on the front lawn, car rides, squishy toys, and adored treats (often pressing her nose against the cupboard where they were stored in hopes they would somehow magically fly out). She made herself at home on any lap available and dispensed kisses with abandon.
We were devastated to lose her to cancer at age 10, but enormously comforted that you made it possible for the end of her life to be so peaceful and loving. We so appreciate everything you did to ensure that Tia had a good end to her good life. It was very comforting to see how peaceful and relaxed she was at the end of her time on earth with us. I feel great relief & gratitude that she didn’t have to suffer.
Thank you for your empathy and kindness and compassion to us as well as to Tia.
