Mikey was an incredibly special gift to me and my husband. When we met I already had two older kitties and Art had absolutely no experience with cats. Tuxedo passed before we were married and Abby, who was 14, was very ill. At about the time it became clear it was time to let her go, a male cat who looked very much like her began to hang around our house. Whenever Abby was outside he wanted to be near her, and when she finally passed, Mikey moved into our lives and hearts. He was Art's first cat, and they bonded fast and deep. Mikey was with us for 19 years, and when kidney deterioration and old age finally took their toll, the last thing we wanted was for his time with us to end in a vet's office. Friends of ours had called Dr. Forslund when they had to let their beloved husky Hazel go, and urged us to do the same for Mikey. We will be forever grateful to them that we did. When Dr. Forslund arrived, we immediately knew we were in the presence of someone who truly cared about easing the experience of losing a precious family member. Words can't express the peace and serenity she brought to one of the most difficult moments in our lives.
Thank you, Dr. Annie, for what you do. Our memories of Mikey will always include the way he was able to pass in peace, in our home, in our arms, in your care.

A note to the doctor:
Hi Dr. Annie,
The event went FAR beyond what we expected. Everything about your service made things easier for us. From the hug you gave us on arrival, to the exceptional gentleness, compassion and consideration you gifted us throughout the process, you made Mikey's passing as bearable as it could possibly be. I honestly have no suggestions for improvements. We couldn't have asked for anything more. You were recommended to us by dear friends, to whom we will always be thankful.
