Dear Dr .Forslund,
Zoe was an integral part of our life and honored us with 18 years of love, devotion and joy, as well as teaching us how to love life. We can only hope that we were able to return in like kind that degree of honor. While we knew she was amazing, those who came to know her arrived at the same conclusion. She was special. She filled our life with hope and direction and represented the best in relationships. She was able to communicate to us when it became time for her to leave.
While allowing this was probably the most difficult decision we have ever made, it was also apparent that to keep her here any longer was selfish on our part and not necessarily in her best interest. To have a “stranger” intervene in this most personal act was a trying decision. It was a tremendous relief to us when you showed the compassion and understanding that you did. Those feelings were of considerable assistance in helping us deal with her departure. We still grieve but we believe, that through your efforts, we were able to give her the respect and consideration that she had earned. She will remain in our hearts and thoughts forever and we are consoled by the thought that she was given the honor she deserved.
Thank you again for your understanding.
