Thank you very much for your compassion and concern. Dr. Meg was lovely and made sure we understood what each step was and how it would affect our much-loved girl. Leona’s passing was peaceful and Dr. Meg gave us as much time as we needed to say good-bye. Thanks to you and your team for being there for us. We will always be so grateful.
From the moment she chose me, I knew Leona was special. She was an adventurous puppy. Always happy to be cuddled or just hang out. She was a far better dog than I’m sure I ever deserved and I am so grateful we got to spend the last 18 years together. She was quick as a whip when it came to learning new things. She learned to sit in 15 minutes and to lay down in the same kind of time frame. She was an amazing shortstop and could field a ball with the best of ‘em. Even later in life, as her eyes dimmed and her joints ached, she would still be up for a round or two of catch. She was incredibly even-tempered and was a favorite of the neighborhood because she was just so sweet. She was quite simply, the best dog, ever. They say dogs are here to teach us how to love but I think they’re here to remind us why we love. I’m going to miss my girl but I know she’ll always be with me, in that paw print on my heart. The house isn’t the same without her but I know it was the right decision. It was time.
And again, thank you.
Warmest regards,
