Hello Dr. Forslund,

We want to personally thank Home Pet Euthanasia as well as Tracy Renard and you, Dr. Forslund. You certainly made a very difficult experience a little bit more comforting. We were very impressed with the support and patience the entire Home Pet Euthanasia team had with us while we researched the process and asked questions. Thank you again for the wonderful job you did with Roxy and allowing her to pass in such a loving way with us by her side, it really meant the world to us. Thank you for what you do. You are so appreciated. We will certainly recommend you to those that are looking for a better process to manage the end of their 4 legged family members like our Roxy girl.

Roxy was our beautiful Belgian Malinois.  While we have had many dogs in our lives who we love, she was one special and unique dog that connected with us in a way that no other dog had done before. Roxy was rescued from the pound when she was just a puppy. She was extremely loving, intelligent and a valued member of our family.  Roxy loved lying in the grass and camping in the RV. She would actually race into the RV and hop on her couch looking forward to new smells and adventures.  She loved the cold weather and we would often find her outside in the cold or rain. She especially loved french-fries. Anytime someone would come home with a french-fry, she could smell it and would seek it out until she got her one french-fry.
 

There are so many great memories with her but unfortunately her days were becoming more and more challenging where she could not be alone anymore.  We would walk her up and down the stairs (or carry her); made sure she had the most comfortable bed, and was happy.  We were so privilege to have Roxy in our lives for 17 years. Roxy became a little incontinent which we knew was a bad sign since she never had accidents in the house. Her hips became more and more stiff and while we provided pain and hip medication, it just didn’t seem to be helping as it once did.  She wouldn’t get up to great us anymore and didn’t want to go outside. Unfortunately she began falling down and was sometimes unable to get up on her own. We were so afraid that we would come home to her hurt and injured so she just couldn’t be left alone anymore.  When we saw that she was no longer having any fun, not being around the family when we were outside and just appeared to be miserable we started discussing next steps and available options. 
 
It is never easy to see a loved one go and doesn’t matter if they have two or four legs, in the end we knew what needed to be done even though it was one of the most difficult things we had to experience. We explored available options and felt it best to have the process done in the privacy of our own home where Roxy was comfortable.  No dog likes going to the vet any more then we like going to the doctors.  We wanted her final hours to be comfortable and in a place that she loved with the people she loved. We reached out to our vet who recommended Home Pet Euthanasia.  We were very impressed with the support and patience the entire Home Pet Euthanasia team had with us while we researched the process and asked questions.  The information on their website is very informative and while the situation was difficult, it did help to make us feel that we were on the right track and we needed to continue to move forward.
 
Once we scheduled our appointment, we were absolutely sick to our stomachs when the day arrived.  We gave Roxy some of her favorite treats and some Del Taco french-fries.  The doctor was very patient during the whole process and never rushed us. We took our time to say goodbye and love on Roxy. We were able to stay with her until the very end and hold her paw the entire time. The professionalism of the doctor and the way the process was managed made at very difficult situation much easier.  They even called to check on us during the grieving process. We selected a beautiful urn with Roxy’s picture on it along with a paw print to keep her memory alive and continue to have Roxy as part of our lives.
