"Our sweet Kona was a rescue cat from Lake Havasu. By chance, she ended up in our home where she would become an indelible part of our little family. She slept between us every night, and woke us with her kitty kisses in the morning. She was playful and sassy, yet gentle and loving, and so very loyal. I know every owner likes to think of their pet as the best in the world, but that is what Kona was to us - the absolute best fur baby in all the world. We got so lucky to be blessed with our gorgeous green-eyed girl. Our little family was complete with her in our hearts. She became ill with a mystery illness in 2017. Countless vet visits led to one mis-diagnoses after another. We tried for months upon months to help her, desperate to save her life, but her condition continued to worsen. Eventually we had to make the excruciating and unimaginable decision to let her pass. We didn’t want to put her through yet another trip to a vet - she had already suffered enough, which is why we went the at-home euthanasia route - we wanted to make sure we created as peaceful, calm, and loving environment as possible; Kona deserved that. She spent her last precious moments in her fur mama’s arms, being kissed, rubbed, told repeatedly how much she is loved and that she is going to be ok and free of pain. It’s both one of our most painful yet precious memories. Our sweet girl’s life ended on June 29, 2018. Our lives are forever changed by this sweet kitty, but we will love her eternally and will honor her memory until we meet again. Thank you Jesus for all that you have done."
