An imprint can be made of your faithful companion’s paw. This is a wonderful remembrance. The imprint is made in polymer clay. After it is baked, it hardens into a permanent, resistant artful piece, that you will cherish along with all the memories of your friend.
If you would like to have this wonderful remembrance, please make sure to mark this on the electronic forms we will send you and fill out the additional section on paw prints.
. You can choose from the following models:
The Basic Paw Print (cost $55)
This Paw Print is simple, yet made with care by Home Pet Euthanasia. It is the imprint of your faithful companion's paw, cast in polymer clay. There is no engraving, finish or dyes. It is made using a technique which will prevent imperfections such as dirt or hair from getting into the clay, without using paint as a cover-up.
Here is what the Basic Paw Print will look like. Please note that the size of the model depends on the size of your pet's paw.
The Basic Paw Print with Engraving (cost $75)
This carefully made paw print has the same caracteristics as the Basic Paw Print but the name of your pet is engraved on the front and you may choose a short personal message to be engraved on the back (such as "In loving memory of Honey"). You may chose to have hearts of any color you like on each side of the paw print or have it plain with no hearts.
The Engraved Paw Print with Pearlescent finish (cost $120)
This paw print has your pet's name engraved on the front and a short personal message engraved on the back. You may choose to have hearts laid on the sides of the paw or to leave it with no hearts. The entire model will be covered with a pearlescent dye which will give it a lustrous finish.
The Deluxe Paw Print (cost $165)
This beautiful artwork has your pet's paw print on the front with hearts on the sides of the paw print. Your pet's name will be engraved on the front. A personal message is engraved on the back. Colored pearlescent dyes are laid on the paw and on the engraved name of your pet (color of your choosing). The color can also be only on the paw or only on the name, as you please (see pictures for examples). The back of the model also has a uniform pearlescent finish, with a short message engraved, with or without hearts. This model requires several hours of work to make and is a wonderful remembrance.
Our Paw Print Process:
Upon the arrival of your baby's remains at our office, one of our assistants will take the imprint of his/her paw prior to his/her being sent to the cremation facility. This imprint is preciously preserved, unbaked and carefully protected, awaiting the paw print artist to do her magic. As it would be impossible for our paw print artist to do the engraving and art immediately after it is taken (as our euthanasias can arrive at our facility at all hours of the day and night), the paw print artist will set a time where she will work on a series of paw prints and get the artwork completed and the paw prints baked, tie the pretty ribbon and package it so it can be safely delivered. Please be assured that your baby's imprint has been taken immediately after his/her arrival to our facility, but the engraving, art and baking may not be completed for several days. We know how much it means for you to receive the paw print promptly and we will do all we can to deliver it without delay. However, we reserve a time frame of up to 4 weeks between your pet's euthanasia and the delivery of the paw print. Please make sure to choose the delivery option that suits you best on the electronic forms you will fill out.
Due to the fact that according to our considerable experience, we get much better results by taking the imprint of a back paw, our routine procedure involves using a back paw for the imprint. If you have a preference as to which paw you want the imprint from, please note this on the paw print order form. It is particularly important for cat parents to know this as we occasionally get a bewildered client saying that their cat was declawed and yet there are claws on the paw print. Typically, this is due to the fact that the cat was declawed in the front and not on the back and as our paw prints are taken from a back paw, it can be quite bewildering to a cat parent. Again, if you have a preference as to which paw you want the imprint to be taken from let us know on the form. And please realize that you will get a much nicer, deeper and straighter imprint if we use a back paw.
Crematory paw print (Cost: $65)
In the event that you did not request a paw print from us at the time of the service, it may not be possible for us to offer one of our paw prints as displayed above. If your pet's remains are already at the crematory, we may be able to offer the paw print that they offer. Please inquire with us regarding requesting one of their paw prints.
