How to enable viewing a shared calendar on an Android phone

The steps vary slightly depending on your Android version and which calendar app you use, but here's the general process.

Make sure to add your HPESC email account to your phone first:

1. Go to Settings on your phone

2. Tap Accounts (or Passwords & accounts)

3. Tap Add account

4. Select the appropriate type (Google)

5. Enter your HPESC email credentials and complete setup

6. Make sure Calendar sync is turned on for that account

If using Google Calendar app (most common)

1. Open the Google Calendar app

2. Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner

3. Scroll down and tap Settings

4. Tap on your HPESC email account

5. Look for the shared calendar in the list — you may need to tap Show more to see all calendars

6. Toggle on the switch next to the shared calendar to enable it

7. Go back to the main calendar view — the shared calendar events should now appear

If using Samsung Calendar (on Samsung phones)

1. Open the Samsung Calendar app

2. Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines)

3. Tap the gear/settings icon

4. Tap Manage calendars

5. Toggle on the shared calendar under your HPESC account
