Dear Dr. Meg,
Rarely have we felt such immense gratitude for another human being and a gift they gave to us… Namely, our gratitude for the gift of you… As soon as you walked into our home you brought a presence that permeated deeply into our hearts. Your understanding and loving nature was exactly what we needed at a most difficult time in our lives… Carmen’s last moments could not have been more peaceful, gentle and kind.

Mason was our dearest Golden boy and had the kindest, gentlest, most loving spirit I’ve seen in a dog. We were blessed to have him for almost 15 years. He brought much happiness to everyone who knew him. We love him and will miss him always. I want to thank Dr. Meg for being there to help Mason cross the rainbow bridge in the comfort of his home. She did so with such great love, compassion, and care, and for that we are very grateful. I could not think of any other way to let Mason go.

Sensei was a gentle soul unless he saw a squirrel when we were out for a walk. If I saw the squirrel before he did, I would quickly double wrap the leash around my hand and brace myself. But if he saw it first, it was like water-skiing behind one of those muscle boats with twin 427 inch, turbo charged engines.

After 17 years, his arthritis had overtaken his body to the point that it was time for him to go chase squirrels in that great dog park in the sky. To help us with this somewhat emotional transition, we called on the services of Dr. Annie Forslund who performs home pet euthanasia in the most painless and compassionate manner imaginable. The woman is a saint.

If you live anywhere in Southern California and it’s time for your pet to move on, Dr. Annie is as good as it gets.

On June 15, 1994 when I was 34, Baby Cody and Jasper came into my life. Cats bring joy into your life in an amazing way and leave a big void in their departure. Overall, Cody spent 19-1/2 years bringing nothing but pure joy, love, amusement and companionship into my life. He was a sweet, kind, devoted animal that always wanted to be sitting beside me or in my lap or cuddling close for a nap, and as he got older that only happened more. He had the softest, silkiest coat I have ever pet on a cat and I told him he was beautiful every day of his life. He always made me feel loved.

Dr. Forslund, you are a very special human on this planet and I am certain it was nothing less than Divine intervention that brought such a beautiful shining light into my home on one of the hardest days of my life. You will always be in my heart as well.

Willie was born 24 August, 2001. In January, 2003, he was the Mission Viejo Shelter Pet of the Month; this is where we met Willie and adopted him. . . . He began to lie on my chest purring and rubbing my ears with his chin, as well as sleep next to my pillow, after about six months.

Dr. Forslund’s service is a great improvement over going to the vet’s office. Thanks for all you do.

What Dr Meg and you were able to provide this morning was priceless. Buddy always hated to get in the crate and go to the vet. For him to not experience that and fall asleep in my arms—and for me—that was priceless. Dr Meg gave him the sedative and then I held him as he fell asleep. He was so peaceful. Then we sent him off to kitty heaven.
Buddy was our BEST friend. Ever.

Wilma was smart and funny and completely devoted to me. She never let me out of her sight. She was my girl and with me she stayed. When it became apparent that Wilma had no quality of life, we called Dr. Annie. Saying Good-Bye was one of the most painful things I have ever had to do but it was an incredibly peaceful day. I will never hand a pet over to a vet to be put down in a back room without me ever again. It is the most important gift you can give to your pet. . . to be there till the end.

I rescued our cat as a blind, feral kitten in a back alley, and she remained blind and of a miniature size so we called her Biddy, and she was the joy of our lives for 15 years. 

Dr. Forslund showed up at our home, at midnight, like an angel of mercy. She is not just a veterinarian, she is a healer. She was gentle, patient, and so warm; respectful and competent. She left no detail unthought of, planned with love, down to the beautiful fabric lined basket she has in her car, in which to lay your pet after they have passed. This shows her understanding of the love we have for our pet. We could not have gone through the passing of our precious kitty without her. I am forever grateful.

Rowdy

Rowdy was already an experienced and mellow guy by the time he joined our family from the animal shelter. He loved his walks, but only walked towards our home. You had to carry him on the outbound journey, but he couldn't wait to get back home. He enjoyed digging in the yard ("Hey, has anyone seen Rowdy lately? Oh no…”). Mostly he just enjoyed being in the room with the family and resting the lazy days away.

Dr. Meg was very calming and understanding and is final day was as peaceful and stress free as all the good days that came before.

With Dr. Annie’s incredibly kind and compassionate support, we were able to say goodbye to Simon in rather the same way we had first met, with loving arms surrounding him. He slipped away peacefully on Michael's lap while we all sat together on our patio in the warm sunshine. Simon, just by being himself, was a tremendous healing gift for me. The simple weight of his presence is something Michael and I both dearly miss. As heartbreaking as it was to let him go, it is impossible to imagine not having had him as part of our family. He brought us so much joy for more than fourteen years.

From the very beginning, our sweet Katy was such a loving, patient and beautiful dog. Katy was part of our family, our first "baby"… and when our children were born, Katy protected and loved them.

When we knew that it was time to say goodbye to Katy, our dog of 14 years, we found comfort in knowing that we could do this in our home. Dr. Forslund was so reassuring and comforting through the process and it was obvious that she cares about animals and this is not just a "job" for her, but a calling. Dr. Forslund is an angel. She was very informative which helped us prepare for the procedure and it helped us to know what to expect. She was very tender towards our dog Sammy and extremely respectful to her body and spirit. Her patience and compassion is heartwarming during this heartbreaking event. I am sad to say that I had to put my precious baby Lily down this week. I met the most extraordinary lady vet who comes to your house to euthanize your pet. She has it all planned to be as painless and sweet as possible. I love that little cat so much and she was so good for Mother, too. Lily lived with her for about 5 years and she was such a Godsend for her. They adored each other. After 14 years, it's so lonely here without my little pal. She was an awesome cat, and I miss her so much. May my little angel with fur rest in peace.

Some 13 years ago, a scruffy little black-and-white puppy wandered into our lives. In spite of our “better” judgment, she convinced us that she was ours, and we were hers. In return for giving her a home, “Ladybug” gave us unconditional love and joy.

In our experience with Dr. Forslund, it was clear that veterinary medicine isn’t her vocation, it is her calling. She bonded with Ladybug so quickly and fully, and eased her pain without causing any added stress. Letting go of our girl was one of the hardest things we’ve ever done, but we will be forever grateful to Dr. Forslund that it was a peaceful and painless passing.

Like all dogs, Tek lived to please and protect her owner. In all her almost 14 years, she never let me down. She deserved to go down with dignity and that was my responsibility. As gut wrenching as it was, it was on our own terms and I will never have to look back and say that I waited too long. Dr. Annie wrapped her in a warm brown blanket and as she carried her away I wiped the tears from my eyes to see that Tek had never looked more beautiful and at peace than she did at that moment and that is what I will always remember. Without Dr. Annie, those memories of our rewarding life together would have been marred by my own denial and selfishness and I’m grateful that those will not be my last thoughts. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
