Dougal

Dear Dr. Annie,
I really must thank you for all the amazing comfort you, Home Pet Euthanasia of Southern California and Peaceful Paws have given us. You all treated our beautiful Scottie, Dougal, with as much respect as I would hope someone would treat us when we pass on. Letting a loved one go is so difficult, but you did it with so much empathy and gentleness.
We just received Dougal's ashes today from Peaceful Paws and the deliverer was so kind. The presentation of our dog in the beautiful cedar box and pawprint is so beautiful. The offer of grievance counseling is so generous.
I think when we look back on this experience, in time, we will see it all as very beautiful. We feel very grateful to you for being there for us.

Dear Dr. Forslund,
I want to make sure that you know how much I appreciate how beautifully you helped us let our beloved friend Charlie go. You know what I find most amazing about letting your buddy go this way? It’s that you don’t have to try to forget their last day. With our beloved Rex and my sister’s beloved Charlie, my heart swells with peace and joy when I think of their last day. They were tired and ready, but they were not afraid or in distress. They went surrounded with love, tenderness and even joy. What a difference. With our other buddies who passed before we discovered this new way, I have to block out the terrible thought of their end. My entire family cannot thank you enough for the gift you gave us of allowing Charlie to pass from this life with such peace.

Dr. Forslund.....I wanted to thank you so very much for being there for us yesterday. While are hearts are heavy with sadness that Duke is no longer with us, we know he is now in a very cool place restored back to health and youthfulness, and frolicking with all his canine buddies. The service you provide is very special and we were fortunate to be introduced to you....you really make it personal and your approach is so kind and loving.

Thank you so much again for everything you did for us yesterday.

It is with great sadness to let all of you know, my sweet beautiful Taylor passed away on September 19, 2010 at the age of 14yrs old. The weather that day was gorgeous. We visited & reminisced about our lives together.... all the things he would do to make me laugh, smile and love him. I told Taylor how PROUD I was of him and THANKED him for being part of my life and fighting through all his health obstacles just to stay with me. I told him it was ok to leave, he didn't have to take care of me I would be ok and would see him and Baylee one day.
I sang all the songs I created for Taylor softly into his ear as he peacefully drifted into heaven.
Thank you Dr. Forslund for your sincere compassion and providing such a nurturing and loving departure for Taylor. For truly caring about my welfare by checking in with me several times to see how I was doing, along with your invitation to call if I ever needed to. A true act of unselfish love and kindness which is commendable. I know Taylor can rest well in heaven knowing you were there for me.

Sidd was the most loving, most caring, and most loved friend. Sidd made us smile with a simple wag of his tail. Sidd turned 10 years old in April of 2010. We marveled at how healthy he seemed for his age and felt he’d be with us forever. But as summer began, he started to have trouble walking and started eating less. We took him to the vet numerous times. I had always thought that I would never euthanize a pet and would instead allow nature to take its course. But as Sidd continued to struggle in his last days, I could not stand the thought that he was suffering. Taking him to the vet was ruled out immediately. The vet’s office scared Sidd terribly. We did not want Sidd’s last memories to be somewhere he did not feel happy or safe. Dr. Forslund was not only very knowledgeable and professional, but beyond compassionate. I strongly believe that in-home euthanasia is her calling – she was born to do this work. It has been almost five months since Sidd has passed and our family misses Sidd dearly, but we take joy in all the happy memories we have and knowing he is at peace.

Finally...... a way to do what has to be done, but in a way that "special animal lovers" like me and you (and the animals) need. I will recommend you and in home euthanasia for the rest of my life. And I will make it a point to tell the Vet the next time Cubby goes in. If she cares about her clients/pets as much as she should, she should have no problem telling people about this service. Money or not.
Again, I'm glad I found you and thank you very much for everything.

Misty was the sweetest, gentlest doggie and gave us nearly 18 years of wonderful companionship. We all miss her terribly, though she will live on in our hearts forever.
Some people have a truly special gift and you, Dr. Forslund, are one of them. I am eternally grateful for the service you provide and I will, without a doubt, highly recommend your services to anyone and everyone I come in contact with. I am convinced there is no kinder way to say goodbye to our beloved pets.

Thank you for your patience, caring and understanding in one of the most difficult moments of my life. You are truly awesome! At times I feel so sad, especially in the evenings. I love Milo and I miss him. I want to say thank you, I have had to have several wonderful companions euthanized in my life, but because of you, this was the first time that I was able to be with Milo, caressing him through the end. I will always be grateful to you for that.

Thanks so much for helping us to give our sweet 11-yr old. Mattie Girl a dignified and compassionate goodbye, with all her doggie friends (weiner dudes Hunter, Reilly, and Wyatt) present. Even though it was a hard decision to make, we know it was the right thing to do as Mattie was suffering and bleeding internally from tumors in her spleen and her liver. She passed on so peacefully. Yours is such a difficult job to do and you deserve all the hugs of appreciation you get from thankful pet owners.

When my ailing Chocolate Lab, Morgan, signaled to me she was ready to leave her diseased body, I immediately called Dr. Forslund . Sobbing into the phone, her words were so comforting and supportive and I knew immediately I was in good hands as I initiated this final act of love for my dog.
Morgan, was comfortable in familiar surroundings and seemed to sense Dr. Forslund had come to end her suffering; as the three of us sat together in the warm sunshine. I so appreciated the unhurried manner in which Dr. Forslund performed her services making it so much better for me as I shared my final moments with Morgan. Afterwards, I took comfort remembering how peaceful the end was for Morgan.

Pizmo was such wonderful dog and he will always live in our memories. Pizmo tolerated our grandchildren who loved to crawl all over him, pet him, hug and kiss him from the time they could crawl until the week before he left us. He was a gentle soul. Calling you was one of the hardest calls I have every made, but from the moment you answered my call, I knew I had made the best decision for Pizmo. When you arrived and went to Pizmos's side to pet him, speak softly to him, I know he felt your love. The final care you gave him was so kind and gentle, and so respectful. I am so grateful that you were here for Pizmo and me.

I am writing this memorial for Moses as part of the grieving process, and to share with those considering home pet euthanasia the special experience that I had with the assistance of Dr. Forslund. Dr. Forslund’s caring, understanding, and gentle manner made this most difficult decision and experience of pet euthanasia one that I can remember as a special moment and a good memory, rather than one that would diminish the memory of my special boy's last hours.

When, after too many stressful trips to several vets, I learned that nothing was going to save him, I promised Kamir I would never again put him into his cat carrier. I wanted him to be able to go in the comfort of his surroundings. Dr. Davis said you were the person to help with that, and she was right. I am also grateful that you were instrumental in relieving his pain.

Galford was rescued 7 years ago, and he came with lots of health problems. Time and again he had to stay at the vet’s, and every time his stress level was really high, since he would think he was abandoned again. He was a happy dog and unwilling to let go. He would insist in going for a walk, when he was so weak he couldn’t walk half a block. But his illness won. We called Dr. Annie. Even though it was Halloween night, she came to our house and befriended Galfi before getting him ready. My beloved Galfi was able to leave in absolute peace, surrounded by all his family. His goodbye was as he always was: full of love.

Dr. Forslund, Galfi was a blessing being here, and you were a blessing returning him home!

We adopted Tank from the Southern California Lab Rescue in 2004. We fell completely in love with his loving, joyful personality and we were instantly convinced that there was no sweeter soul on the planet. When it came time to say goodbye to Tanker, we knew we wanted him to be as calm and comfortable as possible. We knew that a trip to the vet would be stressful and traumatic. From the moment I contacted Dr. Forslund, I heard the compassion in her voice and felt how much she truly cared about our situation and wanted to help. Tanker was able to go so peacefully. He was laying in my lap on his favorite spot on the couch. He was so relaxed and he fell asleep so comfortably in his final moments.

Boris was adopted from an animal shelter in Michigan. I have to say, he was a hand full at first. He loved eating the kid’s homework. “The dog really ate my homework!” Over the years, Boris settled into a behavior of loyalty, happiness and love. Boris would follow me around all day. He would place himself on the floor right behind me. I didn’t really know how much I would miss tripping over his black lump on the floor. I have lost my shadow.
On November 8, 2010, Boris passed away comfortable in his own familiar surroundings thanks to Dr Forslund. Dr. Forslund was so kind, patient, and caring. Boris was completely at ease. I’m grateful for getting to know her. She has a special gift, and love for animals. I would recommend Home Euthanasia to anyone. You really do not want to bring your pet to the vet’s office.
